Pediatric Dentistry

Pediatric dentistry is an age-defined specialty that provides both urgent and comprehensive preventive and restorative oral health care for infants and children through adolescence, including those with special health care needs. Our  range of services includes examinations, cleanings, fluoride treatments, x-rays, sealants, fillings, crowns and extractions. Students and faculty also work with other Dental School departments performing interdisciplinary treatment. Treatment of complex cases referred to us by practitioners throughout New Jersey is supervised by our expert faculty. Included in our department is the Delta Dental of New Jersey Special Care Center which offers predental treatment for Special Needs patients of all ages. 

Community Health

Community Health programs focus on state-wide activities that target socially and economically disadvantaged populations and high-risk groups.  Faculty and students disseminate information on oral health prevention and overall health. It also includes clinical trials for the development of new technology and products that improve oral health. Outreach activities are required for every student during each academic year.
